CAREER HISTORY: Mike decided at an early age to attend the US Naval Academy, instead of following his parents to work for Boeing. He studied, and managed to get one of the coveted appointments to the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Upon arrival, he decided to go into Oceanography, and also pick up some language courses in Chinese.

While attending the USNA, he made a decision to become part of the SEALs. That required him to maintain a high GPA. Eventually, he graduated with a 3.95 GPA from the USNA, coming in 10th in his class. He went before the SEALs officer board review, and was given one of the few coveted slots to continue on to the BUD/S. SEAL training was grueling, and a few times Mike considered dropping out, but he managed to complete the training, and become of the SEAL teams officers.

He was assigned to SEAL team 1, and immediately saw action in the first Gulf War, in 1991. Mike's team conducted irregular warfare within the borders of Iraq, disrupting troop movements, and supply caravans. Their efforts aided greatly in the war effort, and aiding in the liberation of Kuwait. For his actions there, and in various other classified operations in the Mid East, Mike was promoted to a Lieutenant (jg) and moved to a targeting/operations officer assigned to the HQ for SEAL Team 1 troop.

After about 10 years working with SEAL Team 1, Mike decided to pursue another career within the Navy, and by this time he had become a Lieutenant Commander. He decided to go to the Naval War College to pursue a Masters Degree in Joint Operations. After a few years attending the war college, he completed his assignment there, and was promoted to Commander.

With his background and knowledge, Mike was given the option to command a team of people in a highly classified operation. Intrigued, Mike decided join Stargate Operations, and took over SG-10.
