Attended Eath's West Point Military Academy for 3 years where he discovered that he had a love of science and medicine.

Transferred to the Academy of Sciences and graduated somewhere in the middle of his class.

On a whim he applied to and was accepted into Star Fleets Medical school. While he wasn't happy with the obvious military style he worked hard to get his medical and Science degree, knowing that once he finished he would owe SF several years of duty in return or his education. Graduated in the ower 2/3 of the calss.
CAREER HISTORY: Upon Graduating from SF he was Stationed at De'lena Station in the Bajoran sector.

After the incident with the Rear Admirals son he was sent to work on a cargo vessel delivering supplies to remote bases.

SPECIALTIES: He has no real specialties other than finding hinself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He's a midocre Surgeon at best but a fair general practitioner.

His notoriety came about when he iwas on his forst duty station. An ensign was brought in suffering from abdominal pains. And he diagnosed appendicitis and had already surgically removed the apendix. Only then did he discover that the patient had swallowed something that had lodged itself in the gestational track. After removing the blockage, the patient was given a dose of antibiotics, to which, it turns out, he was severely allergic. While the patient survived and recoved. The patients father, a Rear Admiral, had not been pleased with Duke's treatment of his son. And to this day has managed to send Duke to the worst possible duty slots available.
